Barrierefreiheitserklärung
SYNGAP Elternhilfe eV strives to make its website https://syngap.de/ accessible to everyone. The relevant legal basis for this is the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the German Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV) in conjunction with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.
About Us
Our association represents the interests of individuals and families affected by the SYNGAP1 disease. We advocate for professional exchange, informative positioning, and the dissemination of relevant (support) measures.
Providing the most barrier-free access possible to our information and services is a central concern for us – especially with regard to people with communication and sensory impairments.
Status of compliance with requirements
The website is largely compliant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 (Compliance Level AA).
Non-accessible content
The following content is not yet fully accessible:
- Some PDF documents are not fully prepared for screen readers (missing semantic structure, tags).
- In some cases, descriptive link texts that clearly describe the target content of the link are missing.
- Individual page contents are not consistently tagged with title tags or ARIA labels.
We are continuously working to identify and eliminate existing barriers.
Preparation of this declaration
This statement was prepared on August 25, 2025. It was based on a technical review using automated tools (e.g., WAVE) as well as manual tests by our editorial team.
